Engineering Simulation & Design
Design work that is checked before it is built. Modification, optimisation and prototype development support, informed by simulation at the design stage.
CAD geometry reviewed on screen before anything is committed to fabrication.
Decide on the screen, not on the shop floor.
Changing a design is inexpensive while it is still data. Changing it after fabrication is not. Simulation at the design stage lets a change be evaluated, compared and discarded before any material is committed.
We support design modification, optimisation and prototype development. Where a project calls for a specialist analysis discipline beyond that scope, we will say so and confirm the scope with you before committing to it.
SCOPE
CAD modelling and assembly work in SolidWorks
Design modification against new requirements
Design optimisation and variant comparison
Prototype development support
Engineering drawings and documentation
How a design engagement runs
-
Define
Agree the functional requirement, the constraints and how success will be judged.
-
Model
Build or adapt the CAD model so the parameters that matter can actually be varied.
-
Evaluate
Compare design options against the requirement and identify the trade-offs.
-
Release
Issue drawings and data for fabrication, with prototype support where needed.
Where to next
Have a design that needs improving?
Tell us what you are trying to achieve. We will tell you whether it is something we can measure, model or engineer — and how we would approach it.
